Apprenticeship Programme Lead

Based At

MP House, 4A Meadowbank Way, Eastwood, Nottingham, NG16 3SB


Desired Skills & Experience

This role requires a degree of travel; visiting employer sites to communicate apprenticeship content and/or completing the enrolment process. This will require you to adjust your working pattern to suit stakeholder needs.


• Customer Service: 2 years (required).

• Administrative Experience: 3 years (prefered).


• GCSE/equivalent (required).

• A-Levels/equivalent or a Level 3 qualification in Business Administration (one of these is required).


• Safeguarding officer.

• DBS/CRB checked.

• Knowledge of prevention & British values.

• Understanding of the apprenticeship funding.


Accountable to

MP Skills Office Manager



You will be responsible for increasing numbers of enrolments on apprenticeships, liaising with employers, managers and apprentices at all stages of the process, coordinating marketing, sales and any related administration and being the first point of call for all queries. In addition to this, you will fully support the rest of the office team.


Responsible for

  • Increasing the market share on apprentice starts.
  • Help make MP Skills become the “go-to” provider of choice for employers by proactively creating and progressing opportunities to increase apprentice numbers.
  • Working alongside the Marketing and Communications Officer to increase industry awareness of our apprentice offering.
  • Leading enrolment of apprentices at the employer locations.
  • Ensuring the apprentice and employer has a great experience with the MP Skills apprenticeship program.
  • Creating and efficiently administrating apprenticeship processes and records.
  • Improving processes and manage all records relating to apprenticeship delivery, across all areas of the business. Including the coordination of records with main providers.
  • Pull together all monthly reporting for internal processes, employers and main providers in an accurate and timely manner.


Team Support

  • Coordinating the apprenticeship delivery between the different functions.
  • Performing the full range of office administration duties in the Plant Scheme, AAC, SHE and Driver Skills team.
  • This role is key in supporting the success of MP Skills across all teams and will offer help and support as required.


Working Relationships

Develop and maintain good working relationships with the following;

  • Employers, apprentice managers and apprentices.
  • Trainers and assessors.
  • Internal MPQC Staff.
  • Main providers/colleges.
  • End Point Assessment organisation.


Key Result Areas

  • Active promotion and sales of apprenticeships.
  • Accurate processing of apprenticeship records.
  • Accurate record keeping.
  • Creation and management of efficient processes.
  • Employer support and funding coordination.


Key Tasks

  • Handling incoming and outgoing calls and emails.
  • Completing on-site enrolment of apprenticeships.
  • Advising customers on levy and apprenticeship rules/processes where required.
  • Presenting apprenticeship content and requirements to employers (on site, via webinars, on the telephone etc)
  • Leading the Prevent and Safeguarding function within MPSkills.
  • Key liaison with employers, colleges, assessors etc.
  • Scanning, filing and record keeping for all apprenticeship documents.
  • Collating, analysing and communicating all monthly reports.
  • Ensuring all learner progress reviews are scheduled and documented.
  • Researching best practice in apprenticeship delivery and changes in rules and policy.
  • Making recommendations to improve our apprenticeship program and delivery making MP Skills supplier of choice.
  • Updating of all internal electronic and paper systems, including support the new design of the Nexus system.
  • Coordinating payments on a monthly basis, liaising with MPQC finance and main providers.
  • Handling mailshots.
  • Coordinating all meeting rooms, buffets, trainers, training materials for classroom sessions.
  • Coordinating the update of relevant policies and procedures – annually as a minimum.
  • Providing data and evidence for internal and external audits.
  • Performing the full range of office administration duties in the Plant Scheme, AAC, SHE and Driver Skills team.
  • As this is a new role that has the potential to develop further we intend for you to add to this as well as fulfilling other duties as required.


Core Skills

  • Ability to learn the cross-departmental requirements of apprenticeship provision, the details within funding rules and to develop the ongoing progression of the apprenticeship business within MP Skills.
  • Excellent communication and commercial skills, combined with a self-starting approach to work.
  • Project management skills combined with the ability to self motivate, initiate and drive this exciting opportunity forward.
  • Must have current knowledge and experience of the apprenticeship process and funding.
  • Confidence, drive and diplomacy when working with stakeholders. Ability to work both in a busy office and also at customer sites, which will require site visits needing H&S assessments.
  • Good level of English and to be presentable and confident both in and out of the office when speaking to employers about their requirements.
  • IT/office skills are essential as is being prepared to work as part of a team. Reliable, flexible and adaptable to a changing environment.
