Who should attend?

This course would suit operatives, supervisors and managers and if an employer is embedding a behavioural safety mind-set within the business then all staff would benefit from attending this course.

Aims

To provide individuals with:

• An understanding of the principles of safety management and impacts of poor performance

• Skills to recognise and identify the key areas of accident causation and Firestarter events

• An appreciation of accident theory and its application

• A knowledge of inspections and the moral/legal requirements and personal limitations

• Understand key influencing skills and be able to relate these back in the workplace

Content

  • Exploration of the reasons for good safety management

  • Cause and Effect thinking skills when related to accidents

  • Accident Theories and the behaviours that might be present

  • Inspection requirements the importance of accuracy and understanding limitations

  • The principles of influencing skills and how to utilise these for encouraging worker engagement and involvement

Based in a training room the day is packed full of a number of interactive activities that are combined with a number of blended learning techniques leading to an extremely thought provoking and highly stimulating day. It tackles a number of core communication skills which will help an individual become more confident and effective in the workplace.
