Who should attend?

This course is ideal for anyone who would like some basic knowledge on mental health

Aims

In this introductory course delegates will understand the following:

• What mental health is and how to challenge stigma
• A basic knowledge of some common mental health issues
• An introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing
• Confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue

Content

The content of the course includes the following:

  • Factors which affect mental health
  • Spotting the signs of distress
  • Mental health conditions including: Depression, anxiety disorder, psychosis, eating disorders, suicide, self-harm
  • Supporting mental health in the workplace
  • Useful statistics

Number of delegates

Maximum 12 delegates

Duration and Delivery Options

This course is only half day ( 4 hours) and can be delivered in either a morning session or the afternoon.
There will be group discussions and sharing of experiences if comfortable to do so.
