Who should attend?

For drivers who:

• Are required to hold the MPQC Drivers Skills Card (EPIC)

• All drivers of Tippers, Truckmixers and Tankers


To provide individuals with:

• Increased awareness of safety, health, and environmental issues at work

• The encouragement of safe behaviour during the collection and delivery of quarry materials and products

• To increase drivers attitude to unsafe acts


The course includes:

  • Preventing workplace accidents

  • Accident reporting
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Vehicle pre-start checks

  • Safe driving behaviour

  • Vehicle access and egress

  • Site hazards

  • Entering and leaving customer sites

  • Environmental issues

  • Vehicle-specific hazards

Successful completion of the course leads to an MPQC Driver Skills Card, valid for 5 years from date the course was attended.


Number of delegates

Number of delegates: minimum 6, maximum of 20* - NB on public courses a maximum of 10 attendees are permitted per employer/company

Duration and Delivery Options

The course will be based in a training room and will consist of short lectures, demonstrations, group discussions, interactive exercises. At the end of the course, attendees must take an assessment under exam conditions and achieve a pass rate of 80% to be awarded the MPQC Driver Skills Card.

Successful completion of the course leads to an MPQC Driver Skills Card valid for 5 years from date attended on course.
