The course is suitable for all levels from administration roles to operators and supervisors through to managers and senior managers that are required to be involved in safety committees.

The course will provide individuals with an understanding and awareness of the requirements of safety committees, including the role of the safety representatives directly involved with committees or training committees. The course will help individuals build a basic appreciation of legislation relevant to safety representatives and safety committees and learn effective communication and conflict management skills throughout the day.

This course covers the legal requirements and practical aspects of safety committees, including the roles of safety representatives and enforcement agencies. It explores behavioural safety, effective worker involvement, overcoming challenges, and accessing health and safety information. A practical session on running a safety committee is also included.
