MP Skills Launches new vehicle-Specific Safety Courses

Three new site safety and vehicle-specific training courses are replacing the current site safety awareness programme. These courses for tipper, tanker and truckmixer vehicles have been created in close collaboration with the Mineral Products Association (MPA) and dedicated industry working groups to ensure the content is fully aligned with current sector expectations, operational realities, and best practice.

This significant development marks a major step forward in promoting safety standards, improving operator competence, and ensuring consistency in training across all vehicle types used in the industry. Neil Peacock, general manager of MP Skills, said: ‘The industry now uses a wider and more diverse range of vehicles than ever before. To reflect this change, and with the valued support of the MPA and our industry working groups, we have created three specialised versions of the course. Each one addresses the unique risks, behaviours, and safety considerations associated with specific vehicle categories, ensuring operators receive training that is directly relevant to the equipment they use.’
